One thing about me, you won’t catch me turning down photographing a proposal.  Taylor reached out to me back in July 2024 asking if I could photograph his proposal to his girlfriend Josi while they were traveling to San Diego from Canada.  Him and I spoke on the phone and I suggested a few beautiful beach spots for him to choose from and we ended up going with a beach in La Jolla, California.  La Jolla beaches are nothing short of perfect, the beaches are always clean, never overcrowded, stunning rocks, white sand, etc.

 After she finished the letter, Sam dropped to one knee and presented her with an oval cut ring, proposing to Char.  She screamed yes and they embraced and had a moment for themselves.  Char then realized Sam had hired me to document their adventure that afternoon and after they settled from the proposal we began our shoot

When it comes to getting married in Southern California you cannot go wrong with Crystal Cove in Newport.  Crystal Cove is a state park located along the coast in Orange County.

Jordan and Collin chose Bel Vino to get married and what a stunning location it is!  The ceremony, getting ready, bride and groom suites, cocktail hour area are all held within a space you can walk across within a few minutes.  In the center of the main wedding space is an adorable house that has two separate suites for each wedding party to hangout and get ready.  On each side of the house is a reception space and a ceremony space.  And beyond those spots is another building for the winery, parking for guests, and the rolling hills with the grape vines and views of wine country.  

The second wedding I wanted to talk about is Megan and Ross’s wedding in Bakersfield, California in Megan’s childhood family home.  I met Megan back in 2015 when her and I worked at the same restaurant together in North County San Diego.  While I was taking my photography classes at community college, Megan would often model for me for my assignments.  Her and Ross reached out to me in 2023 and asked if I would travel to Bakersfield to shoot their wedding.  Again, of course I said yes.

If there is one venue that I love and that is different every time it is beauty that is a backyard wedding.  There is more flexibility when it comes to rules, it is cost-effective, more intimate, comfortable, full creative control, easier clean up, the list really goes on.
