Sunset Cliffs Photographer

If you have hung around any San Diego local or photographer odds are, you have heard of Sunset Cliffs.  Sunset Cliffs is located south of Mission Beach in Point Loma in San Diego, California.  90% of the time you go during sunset you are going to see a breathtaking view of the cliffs, ocean horizon, surfers and a few photographers taking portraits of clients.  It really is a staple location for photoshoots in the San Diego area.  My husband and I actually had our photos done there a few years before I picked up my camera again after a 4 year break.

You really cannot go wrong with shooting there.  The cliffs span over a couple miles, parking is free and readily available for anyone and the sunsets are killer.  I actually shot there so much, one of my friends started teasing me calling me “Sunset Cliffs Photographer” and still does to this day.  Yes, I have shot there dozens of times and yes I will continue to recommend the location especially to tourists coming in and wanting their photos done.  

Not only is it a popular location for family and romantic photos it is a prime spot for elopements to take place.  You do need a permit to do so but it has been easy for my previous couples to obtain.  I have even had couples get married at the local downtown courthouse and do their romantic photos at Sunset Cliffs right after since it is a quick drive from downtown San Diego.
