Hi! I'm Mackenzie. Don’t worry if you have called me Belen, it is my last name that I carry with all of my love because it is the name I share with my best friend and our daughter. I am a passionate photographer based in San Diego County, born and raised in the vibrant city of Las Vegas. With over 14 years of experience behind the lens, I specialize in capturing the beautiful moments of couples and their weddings. After becoming a mother in 2025, I have also fell in love with maternity and at home newborn sessions. Experiencing the never ending love for my own child I have fully dove into sharing and bonding with current or soon to be mothers in all things motherhood. Beyond photography, you'll often find me immersed in the world of books or on longs runs and sometimes playing video games or golfing with my husband. Each click of the camera and every turn of a page adds a unique chapter to my journey, and I am always excited to freeze moments in time and create lasting memories for those I have the privilege to work with.

Booking with me
I am a very type b personality, but that should not be mistaken as a lazy person. I take my work and time, as well as yours, very seriously. Booking with me is very straightforward so there is no confusion cause that is just confusing. Once your inquiry goes into my inbox I respond with my availability and we both find a date and time that works best for us. After that I send a contract and we do a booking fee and then we can talk all the fun things. Outfits, location, favorite music, books, video games, movies, idea of a fun day, everything. The more we get to know each other I feel the better I get to serve you.
Every shoot, family, couple, wedding is different and that’s what makes it so special and worth capturing. My goal for my clients is to make you feel comfortable not only being in front of my camera but to be as open and yourself with me as much as possible! I have moved around a lot in my life, met people from all different walks of life, witnessed so many wonderful and not so wonderful things.
If you are searching for a photographer that markets the editorial, trendy, content style I hope you can find them and book them! I have photographer friends that I love working with that offer that style of photography and I am just as amazed by them as the next person and adore them so much. But you will not find that with me. Yes, I love the trends and will play with some of those briefly throughout our time together, or if there is a certain pose you want please tell me! But overall, I am not a trendy photographer. I am a true-to-color, with a bit of warmth, capture your day as it comes and goes, the good, not so good, pretty, messy moments. The crazy hair in the wind, the muddied dress and shoes, the tear streaked makeup from happy tears (don’t worry I will clean you up a bit while editing). Because those are the small details that remind you how the day went. I hope we both walk away from our shoot feeling and savoring the now and not concerned with yesterday or the worries of tomorrow. And I also hope that once I send you the final gallery that not only do you love your images and feel all the emotions you felt that day every time you look at them, but we also stay connected and even friends.
