At home newborn sessions are easily one of my favorite things to document.  I am very flexible in general especially when it comes to newborn sessions at home.  I always tell new mothers when they reach out to me to schedule for me to come over to NOT worry about cleaning their homes for photos.

December 2024 I did a photoshoot giveaway on my instagram and a long time mutual friend and her boyfriend were my winners!  I like to do giveaways during the last month of the year and to do the shoot in the beginning of the new year because its my typically slow season.  With Jordan & her boyfriend Matt they were busy in the beginning of the year and I was a million months pregnant come March 2025 so we decided to put our shoot on hold til later in the year.  We didn’t end up doing our shoot til the last weekend of December 2025 but it was honestly so perfect.  We went to Matt’s family property out in Poway and ran around the massive piece of land and it really filled my heart and inspired me to get more wide shots.  Probably one of my favorite shots I took in 2025 was of Jordan and Matt with the twilight sky behind their silhouette and you can even see Downtown San Diego in the bottom right corner.  I will hold this shoot very dear to my heart because not only is the location memorable but Jordan & Matt’s relationship just exudes love and adoration, the location comes to mind after them.

Last Spring I was just leaving my 6 week postpartum appointment when I had received an inquiry from a young couple about me shooting their pregnancy announcement photos.  I jumped on a call with the expecting couple on my way home and chatted with them.  After a successful round of IVF they were far along enough and ready to announce to the world that they were expecting their first baby!  Not only did they ask me to do their announcement photos, they also wanted me to document their gender reveal party.  I, of course, said yes.

Every so often I get inquiries of couples and families who are vacationing to San Diego and want a photoshoot during their visit.  I usually ask the couple or family if there is a specific spot they would like to shoot at but if they ask for suggestions I will list off my go to beach spots!  These two wonderful out of town families chose the beautiful beach in La Jolla, CA.  This beach is stunning in the afternoon and morning.  It makes it a great spot that’s near where a lot of tourists vacation but it’s not too crowded like Mission Beach.  I am forever grateful to be apart of your vacation and give you photos to help you remember it forever.

Once a year I like to do a photoshoot giveaway on my Instagram.  It’s typically a 30-60 minute free photoshoot to a couple or small family.  I like to do the giveaway around Christmas and to have the shoot at the beginning of the following year during the slow season.  Jess and her husband Christopher were the winners of one of my giveaways and Jess had suggested a location I had yet to explore. 

So with the short notice of booking Natalie I felt the need to get her photos shot and edited as soon as possible while still maintaining my level of expectation for how I like my edits to look.  Natalie and I agreed on a location in North County San Diego on the beach, between Encinitas and Carlsbad state beaches.
