Coronado Beach Maternity Photoshoot

Do you remember the beach/football scene in Top Gun Maverick?  That scene was actually filmed on Breakers Beach on Coronado.  Coronado is a small beach town right across the San Diego Bay from downtown San Diego and is also a home to a US Naval base.  I love to take my clients there for photoshoots.  The Del Hotel is a popular spot on the beach that is also covered with beautiful sand dunes.  Breakers Beach, I believe, is only accessible to military and their families.  But just south is Coronado beach and it is just as beautiful.

Ashley and Sean reached out to me and asked if I could do their maternity photos last summer.  I had done Ashley and Sean’s engagement photos a year prior and we went with a Pride & Prejudice theme and I still love the turn out of those photos.  

Ashley and Sean met me right next to the Del Hotel on a late October afternoon and we headed over to the sand dunes to get started.  Ashley’s first look was an ivory flowy dress while Sean sported a casual beachy look.  

After a while we changed Ashley’s outfit and headed more in front of the Del Hotel and shot the second half of the shoot!

On top of me getting to do their maternity photos, they even had me do their newborn photos at home 3 weeks after they welcomed their beautiful daughter into the world!  It never gets old getting to see my client’s lives evolve and getting to capture it.
