The more chaos the better

I have been so lucky to have gained families as clients and to have them return to me every year. I am always so excited to see you and your family grow and evolve and to capture these chapters for you is something I hold very closely to my heart. I go into family sessions with no expectations of your kids to act a certain way. The more chaos the better in my opinion. My goal is to capture you as you are and to make you as comfortable as possible. I welcome kids to run around and explore wherever we are. A child’s curiosity and exploration is my favorite thing to witness as a mother and as a photographer. The no filter responses, tripping over feet, no hold back belly laughter is the most precious things we as humans can experience. Rounding up the family, doing everyone’s hair, planning outfits, timing naps, snacks and travel is no easy task. I encourage any and everything to make this as smooth as a process as possible. I often have mothers say “I don’t think we were able to get any good shots” and they are always pleasantly surprised when I send the final gallery at all the amazing shots I was able to get because I leaned into the chaos. All of the small kisses, hand holding, running around, sandy toes, really are what makes these family so sessions so great.
