Little Corners & Tiny Feet
At home newborn sessions are easily one of my favorite things to document. I am very flexible in general especially when it comes to newborn sessions at home. I always tell new mothers when they reach out to me to schedule for me to come over to NOT worry about cleaning their homes for photos. I remember when I was three weeks postpartum, tending to my little love, cleaning bottles & pump parts, pumping every 2-3 hours, sleeping (kind of) in the living room with my husband and baby, diapers and burp rags everywhere, I could not fathom how one cleans a home before hosting photos to be taken. So instead of cleaning my entire home, which I completely understand now that a clean room only lasts about five seconds when you have a child, I cleaned little corners of my house that I wanted photos done. Plus, I really don’t care to document homes during the newborn chapter that do not look lived in cause I personally think that looks more crazy and unrealistic than a messy home. I love when a pacifier, breast pump, bottle washer, changing table are in the background because those are the things that our lives revolve around other than our baby. It makes images feel more real and helps us remember those hazy days in the beginning of these precious chapters.
